The mobile device technology

The billion years of human evolution according to 'Darwin's theory of evolution' we have now come a long way in the biological evolution process. We have now started to find the answers to our origin for sometime now looking into deep space for answers of our being in the universe. As I speak there is always a individual sitting besides you pressing their mobile qwerty key pads, communicating with another individual wireless on their smart phone or tablets portable devices. Its now possible to communicate through radio waves after humans experiments with fire, wheels and letters through pigeons and horses and 20th century inventions like telegraph, radio and Morse code until Alexander Graham Bell discovered telephone and when we leaped into 21st century the Internet and microprocessors has enabled us to carry our work and to have a  virtual presence on a go connecting to the could servers. This has enabled us to work on collaborative process with like minded individuals crossing borders and overcoming the Geo political limitations.

By Redrum0486 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:DynaTAC8000X.jpg, CC BY-SA 3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=6421950

We no longer need cables or to carry bulky hand set devices on our shoulders like the At&T bell phone installed in the car but soon Motorola was the company which thought out of the box and changed the game. The same way the optical disk and the USB storage devices or the flash cards added mobility to carry data across computers and networks.Even though there has been a issue of privacy but still the technological advancement has shaped the modern world. Every day our capabilities are increasing. But there lies a concern if all our information becomes open and freely available on the internet what happens when your identity gets stolen. You must have befriended celebrities on social networking websites like twitter or other such web 2.0 sites who impersonate them only to realize later the accounts are fake or some even get scammed. The internet is free and open but there have been instances where people have been in trouble with the law enforcements.

The mobile devices have become a tool which has made average citizens journalists via camera phones and audio recording devices which has act as virtual witness as a evidence in many high profile cases or to avail public services . The mobile devices have become essential gadgets to own what happens to the data when it falls into to wrongs hands or when you lose all the information stored on the mobile device due to the dreaded mobile drop from a height or if it gets stolen and the passwords and the credits card information or the e-wallets gets misused before you realize its stolen. Off course there are security measures and could computing as can act as your backup but you have to go through verification till you restore your digital life with the withdrawal syndromes and short depressing process due to loss of your beloved mobile device for some us have gone through in life when family albums or important document are stored in digital form.

Here lies the question relying of digital platforms as we leap into a world of e-commerce and bio metric information as our passwords to virtual existence of human beings somewhat turning into cyborg like Arnold Schwinger in movie Terminator. Will artificial intelligence become self conscience enough to take over humans into building a world similar to the movie matrix enslaving humans by concealing truth as humans are feed by tubes and virtual information is feed through neurons and nerves to conceal the truth.

May the I-robot are merely a toy till now bu as always we humans will always term the inventors and the theorist as a fiction but we will know soon when these inventors find ways to make fictional devices and thoughts into reality.

ICANN approves non-Latin domain names

The organization responsible for managing the assignment of domain names and IP addresses has approved a new plan to allow non-Latin characters in Web extensions.

Known as Internationalized Domain Names (IDNs), the system is designed to globalize the Net so regions around the world can use their own local alphabet characters to surf in cyberspace, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, or ICANN, said Friday.

Calling IDNs the "biggest technical change" to the Internet since its birth 40 years ago, ICANN unanimously approved the plan on the final day of its six-day conference in Seoul.

IDNs will allow domain names to be to be written in native character sets, such as Chinese, Arabic, and Greek. In charge of managing domain names, ICANN has argued that IDNs are necessary to expand use of the Web in regions where people don't understand English. Since its inception, the Internet has been limited to the Latin character set used by the U.S. and many other nations.

Microsoft, armed with its Bing search engine, is stepping up its assault on Google with the introduction of a unique beta search and shopping tool called Visual Search. The Visual Search feature offers an alternative to lists of blue links that are often delivered by search engines when researching cars, cameras, or other topics. Visual Search was announced Monday by Yusuf Mehdi, a senior vice president at Microsoft, at Tech Crunch 50, a tech conference in San Francisco.

Design your own MONOPOLY building competition Launches

Starting today, you'll be able to play MONOPOLY as it's never been played before: The whole world will be up for sale. Anyone, anywhere will be able to own real streets and build their own online city.

The launch clock is ticking, and we still need some new mega structures – and that's where you come in.

We've enlisted Google's help to find three new MONOPOLY game pieces. You have the chance to have YOUR building design (and bearing YOUR name) included in the biggest game of MONOPOLY of all time.

Use Google SketchUp to design a 3D building, then upload your dream structure to the Google 3D Warehouse to enter it into the competition. You'll need to be at least 13 years old to participate, and you'll need to agree to these Terms and Conditions.

The deadline to submit is Sunday, September 27, 2009 at midnight, EST.

If global MONOPOLY fame and fortune isn't enough, you also have a chance to win a Google SketchUp Pro 7 license (US $495 value). Two runners-up will also have their models used in the online game of MONOPOLY City Streets.

Screenshot of Monopoly City Streets at www.monopolycitystreets.com

Here's how it works:

1. Download Google SketchUp for free. SketchUp is available for both Windows and Macintosh computers.

2. Learn to build 3D models with SketchUp by watching video tutorials and related YouTube videos. Download and work through a few examples using these self-paced tutorials: Introduction to SketchUp, Starting a Drawing Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

3. From SketchUp, choose "Share Model" and upload your 3D building to the Google 3D Warehouse (you must have a Google account to sign in).

4. In the upload window, add the tag "monopolycompetition09" and make sure that you've checked "Allow 3D Warehouse users to contact me about this model" so we can contact you if you win!

5. Within 48 hours, your model/entry will appear in the Competition Collection in the Google 3D Warehouse.

Technical Guidelines:

· Buildings can be any size and any shape
· Buildings must not have photo-textures; they must be painted with solid colors
· The file size limit is 2 MB
· The file format should be .SKP

A few quick tips:

1. Keep it simple. Or not. Our judges will be looking at ALL designs – simple and complex.

2. Go crazy. Remember, the MONOPOLY world is a brilliantly fun place. Make your building the same! Go wild and have oodles of fun doing it.

3. Upload as many designs as you want. The more you submit, the greater the chance of your design winning!

4. For some inspiration check out some sample creations already in the Google 3D Warehouse Competition Collection.

Key dates to remember:

Sunday 27 September 2009 midnight EST - Competition closes

Wednesday 30 September 2009 midnight EST - Our jury will select 3 building designs from the top rated designs and notify the winners. We will also need to verify eligibility requirements at this stage

Tuesday 6 October 2009 midnight EST - Winners will be announced

October 2009 - The winners’ buildings become part of a global game of MONOPOLY

Enjoy!

Host a party, get Windows 7 free

If you're looking for the cheapest possible way to get your hands on Windows 7, you might be interested in a free copy of Windows 7 Ultimate - but you'll need some understanding friends.

As reported over on TechRadar, Microsoft is hoping to boost interest in its next-generation operating system by offering the chance to get free limited Signature Editions of the top-end Windows 7 Ultimate OS - by hosting launch day parties.

If you're willing to risk alienating a bunch of your friends, you can apply host a party between the 22nd and 29th of October to be in with a chance of getting both the Windows 7 Ultimate Signature Edition plus "your very own Windows 7 Party Pack."

Microsoft has very kindly provided a choice of thrilling themes for your party: Media Mania, Setting up with Ease, Family Friendly Fun, and - seriously - "PhotoPalooza." Once you've chosen your theme, you'll receive assistance from "House Party, the world's leading party organizer" and have the opportunity to "upload photos and videos, chat with other hosts, blog your experience, and download fun favours all from your personal House Party page."

While it's certainly a fairly cheap way of getting your hands on the next version of Windows, it remains to be seen just how much fun you could have with a theme of "Setting up with Ease." Rumours of a "take a shot for each exclamation mark in Device Manager" are, as far as can be seen, totally untrue.

15 years in the making... Zubbles are the world's first coloured blowing bubbles

It wasn't quite forever but this toy inventor must have felt he spent an eternity blowing bubbles.
Tim Kehoe spent 15 years and an astonishing $3m (£1.8m) creating the world's first ever coloured blowing bubbles, which have now gone on sale.
Zubbles contain a special dye which gives them vibrant colours but disappears within just 15 minutes of the bubble popping.

Magic of colour: Zubbles come in a range of vibrant shades including reds, greens and purples
